This 3 BR/2BA, 1,225-square-foot family home with tile floors needed softer furnishings to cozy up the space and simple rearranging to showcase it in its best light. We staged it before it went on the market and received four competing offers within two days of listing, selling for $7,000 over the list price.

Our goal was to add maximum impact to this smaller living room by adding a gallery wall over the TV, a mirror over the sofa to help reflect light in the small space, and color to the couch. A sisal rug at the front door complements the space.

Newly painted in a pale grey-blue to complement the red-toned cabinets, a textured neutral backsplash was added to coordinate with the floor tiles. Modern decor and a classic rug complete the space.

We paired two black bookcases at the end of the room to give a built-in look and draw the eye through the room. Then we added horizontal striped curtains to help visually widen the narrow room and white trim on the windows for lightness. Updated and brighter accessories help to liven the dark space.
